'THE LIGHT' is a short film exploring our connectedness in life and death, to not only the world around us, but ultimately to ourselves. Darkness, movement, and clarity, have a tendency to confirm or deny a desire to know, and be known. The film is a collaboration between Brandon Bray and Tim Sessler, experimenting with the use of light in new and abstract ways and combining revolutionary tools like the new Freefly MoVI PRO, RED Helium 8K and our custom built high powered LED drone lighting system. We humans we create, we work, we stay busy from birth to death and never rest. We build, aim higher, work harder, accomplish more, and to what end? "Balance" takes an abstract look at our modern world, the full and the empty spaces and time in which we live and choose to make our lives. ______________________________________________________ BALANCE is a a collaborative film by Brandon Bray and Tim Sessler To read more about the project check out our blog: http://www.brooklynaerials.com/blog/ Director of Photography: Tim Sessler timsessler.com/ Edit and Camera Operator: Brandon Bray decade.is/ Camera Assistant: Sam Hicks Drone and Helicopter Aerials: Brooklyn Aerials brooklynaerials.com/ Helicopter Support: Wings Air Helicopters wingsair.net/ Music: Deaf Center - The New Beginning deafcenter.bandcamp.com/track/new-beginning-tidal-darkness Helicopter setup: Robinson 44 with MoVI M15, RED CF Weapon and Leica R 35mm Summilux Drone setup: Freefly ALTA 8 with MoVI M15, RED CF Weapon and Canon CN-E 15.5-47 f/2.8 Cine Zoom Special thanks to Freefly Systems, Tabb Firchau and Already Alive.

Facebook Stories recently took down the Vimeo Staff Pick video off Vimeo, and I have re-uploaded my Directors cut here. Raimundo Arruda Sobrinho was homeless in São Paulo, Brazil, for nearly 35 years, and became locally known for sitting in the same spot and writing every day. In April 2011, he was befriended by a young woman named Shalla Monteiro. Impressed by his poetry and wanting to help him with his dream of publishing a book, she created a Facebook Page to feature Raimundo’s writing. Neither could have expected what happened next. See more about Raimundo and his poetry on his Facebook Page maintained by Shalla: facebook.com/ocondicionado This short film uses footage from a documentary about Raimundo shot in São Paulo in 2011 and 2012, along with interviews and scenes filmed in Goîana, Brazil, in January 2014. This is one of 10 stories celebrating Facebook's 10th anniversary and a decade of connections made possible through the platform. Tipping Point Community, an organization that helps combat poverty in the bay area, commissioned us to make a short film for their 2014 benefit. We chose to tell a common story of challenge and hardship in the bay area due to poverty. A hardworking family put into a bad situation and not given much hope to get out of it. The film has been formatted in an ultra-widescreen format for the special screen it was shown on at the benefit on May 8th, 2014.
